Cub Scout Uniform Essentials

Although you just need to bring yourself as you are to visit cub scout meetings, if you wish to join cub scouts, you will need a few things.  All of them can be purchased at the Cub Scout Store in Tacoma (4802 S 19th).  There is also a free cub scout clothing bank at the Beehive Bookstore in Edgewood (about a 15 minute drive).  They are open every Saturday 10-2 but require that the uniform recipient be present.  Info about the bookstore is available at http://www.beehivebooksandmore.com/.

1) blue cub scout shirt (for 1st-3rd grade) or tan scout shirt (for 4th-5th grade)
2) belt and buckle
3) Neckerchief
4) Neckerchief slide
5) cub pack number patches - 219 (3 separate patches)
6) Pacific Harbors council patch
7) world scout crest emblem patch
8) Cub Scout Book

Do not buy a hat from the Scout store.  Our Pack has it's own cub scout hats - they keep the same hat for their whole time in cub scouts.  These are available during pack meetings and at most den meetings.

Each age group has a different neckerchief, neckerchief slide and book as follows:
1st grade = Tiger
2nd grade = Wolf
3rd Grade = Bear
4th and 5th Grade = Webelos

The Cub Scout Uniform Inspection Check List is a handy guide to getting the uniform setup just right.

If you have any questions about what to buy, ask the staff at the scout store - they know exactly what you need.  Your den leader know what you need as well.
